To my Ex-boyfriend: Letting Go and Letting God

This is kind of weird but it happened. It quickly come to pass without me having to draw a plan on what or what not to say him, on how or why I have to say it. But I don’t believe this occurred as luck would have it or by chance, only by purpose… a meaningful purpose.

First of all, I never wished-for writing a piece for my past relationship but as I have voiced earlier, it’s kind of strange but still, it happened. I think I don’t see a need to stress this out but I have to let it in.

To give you a brief scene, I had been in a beautiful relationship with a man who I considered as one in a thousand. He has that unique bent to express himself not to please me but mostly to challenge me. He has his own judgment to what’s really important in a relationship rather than just love – loyalty. And in him was I ardently saw that when a man committedly loves a woman, he has it everything made in sacrifice even if it means letting go because I said so. In all fairness, he has been fighting for this relationship but there are things he just cannot. He just have to stop.

Anyway, yesterday morning (after ages of trying) finally I was able to tell him in a very calm, peaceful and joyful manner that he has to open his heart and eyes to see that something’s made new in me, that I became different from the past me. You know sometimes you have to let people first blink their eyes and before you knew it, you were finally understood and not misheard all your blah blah’s.

So I said I was sorry and I don’t want to go back because I felt really contented and peaceful being alone for now… alone with Jesus. Please don’t think that was hard or that was bad ‘coz there is an impression that deeply struck my heart when I became a believer and mostly a follower of Christ. A calling. (I will share that on my next blog post.) And because of that, maybe there are few of you who don’t want or just can’t understand everything here but that’s fine, we will come to know it slowly.

Mainly, he has to understand that he is not meant to live for someone and stop depending his life for someone. You probably heard that vague statement “I cannot live without you” and that’s not true! You are wonderfully created BY HIM FOR HIM. Only. That is the truth nothing but the truth.

I know how painful and hurting for you to be called off with someone you love. BUT everything has its own purpose and it might be for your own good. For now, do not forget that emotion is a big thing, it is a weakness and also a strength. Will that emotion defines you or will it refines you? You decide.

In other words, a man should also be after God’s own heart. In Acts 13:22 it says:

After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: “I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.”

But how should one man be suitable to such dignified description? It is obvious that men’s lives are very far from perfect and God’s heart is perfect. But since David here was a faithful and obedient man, God chose him. You might also be God’s chosen one. Open your heart.

So this is for you, since you said you are more than willing to hear the Word, let me take this chance to show how one believer intercede for someone through CCF’s pray-care-share crusade.

Know that I am praying for you because I care for you so now I am sharing to you ‘coz I believe that every Christian has a mission to play a part – to whoever, may it be relatives, friends, families, boyfriends/girlfriends and even ex-boyfriends/ex-girlfriends! That is called the “Christian Love”.

So what I am saying is this: have a courage to believe, to live in integrity by walking in His ways, see your value in Him and be a faithful man because there are more to life than just a girlfriend-boyfriend relationship, I mean that is important but do not make it as your top list of priority.

Man, you are not meant to live like most men. You are to fight, to be brave and to conquer not for your name’s sake but for His. Go strive and seek His name and show the world His great glory through that uniqueness in you.

I’m impressed, I must say. Rarely do I encounter a blog
that’s both equally educative and engaging, and without a doubt,
you’ve hit the nail on the head. The issue is something not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about.

I’m very happy that I found this during my search for
    something concerning this.
